What is the Difference between Stickers vs Decals?

Sticker vs Decal? Which wins?

There seems to be much confusion when it comes to the differences between a sticker vs a decal.  This article will attempt to clarify the winner between the two.

According to the Dictionary definition of the word Sticker when used as a noun is an adhesive label or notice, generally printed or illustrated.

So according to the Dictionary definition, this is mainly an adhesive label. We use the word Stickers over the word Decal for this simple dictionary definition.

We take pride in making quality stickers. Here is how!

All of our stickers are printed on high quality indoor/outdoor self adhesive vinyl.  We print directly on the vinyl surface using the highest quality UV inks available.  This means that no matter the use of your product, these durable stickers will last much longer than a traditional printed paper label.

From product label stickers for jars of jam, your amazing bbq sauce to a partial vehicle wrap, a storefront sign or real estate sign, our stickers are made to last long term.

Whereas, the Dictionary definition of a Decal when used as a noun is an a design prepared on special paper for transfer onto another surface such as glass, porcelain, or metal.

While this may be the Dictionary definition of the word. Lets delve a bit deeper into the meaning and modern day application of the term.

By this definition, a design that is prepared using vinyl that is transferred onto another surface could have the same exact meaning as the word sticker!

We digitally print on self adhesive vinyl and this is transferred to a sign, banner, metal or wood substrate for the use of signs, posters etc.  We also can plotter cut vinyl and transfer that to glass, for example store hours on an entrance or more.

Overall, no matter what you call it, a Sticker or a Decal, We Make Both!  But overall the word “Sticker” is clearly the winner in this word battle!
